PSV Eindhoven’s championship marked the accomplishment of the first Sinobo Guoan Cup

In the Match Day 5, Club Nacional de Football of Uruguay and Club Atletico Boca Juniors competed for the 3^rdand 4^thplace of Sinobo Guoan Cup. Club Nacional de Football prevailed on penalty kicks and secured the third place. PSV Eindhoven, led by Ruud van Nistelrooy, had defeated Cruzeiro Esporte Clube of Brazil in the final, winning the first championship of Sinobo Guoan Cup.

In the earlier match of the day, Club Nacional de Football won over Boca Juniors on penalty after a 2-2 draw. Club Nacional found the net with an early opener, and Boca Juniors cancelled the goal deficit twice in the match. In the penalty kicks, both team hit the target in the first five shots, while Club Nacional capitalized on Boca Juniors’ mistake in the 6 round of penalty and won the 3^rdplace of Sinobo Guoan Cup.

The competition for the championship was held between PSV Eindhoven and Cruzeiro Esporte Clube. Cruzeiro led the first half with a header, and Eindhoven’s free-kick equalizer in the second half gave the game a 1-1 draw. In the penalty kicks, two teams still tied with each other in the first 5 rounds. But goalkeeper of Eindhoven was able to tipped out the shot from Cruzeiro’s player in the 6^thround, giving themselves a 6-5 win and the first champion of Sinobo Guoan Cup.

In honor of the champion and all participants, the closing ceremony was held in the Workers’ Stadium. Mr. Zhang Zhijun, the Deputy General Manager of Beijing Sinobo Guoan FC, awarded the referees for their efforts. Mr. Gao Jun, the Deputy Secretary General of Beijing Football Association, presented the Best Goalkeeper award to Club Nacional de Football’s goalkeeper. Mr. Li Ming, the General Manager of Beijing Sinobo Guoan FC, awarded Eindhoven’s No. 10 as the Best player of Cup.

The Secretary General of Beijing Football Association, Mr. Yang Haibin, together with General Manager of Beijing Sinobo Guoan FC, Mr. Li Ming, granted medals and trophy to PSV Eindhoven, the first champion for Sinobo Guoan Cup.
